There is a pain in dad' s face

yeah- I was really going for a situation where there was something that couldn't be undone and he knew that.
Thanks,

Hey Jason, I hadn't seen this one before...it's really a great piece. Will this be showing at Arcadia? A great example of narrative realism while maintaining all the ingredients of fine realist painting: illusion of depth, tonal shading, movement of light, color balance and solid composition.

One wonders if the bird is imagined perhaps as an extension of the boy's hand shadow or an actual toy and what the father appears beleagured by.

A fine piece, for sure (and I hope this was not the piece that you were going to unwrap show me; as if it was, I would have loved to see it close up!)

Simply amazing. I love the emotion displayed on each of the faces, as well as the lighting. Very well done.

This is a beautifully captured moment. I particularly like how you've done the wall.

I love the use of lighting here ^^
The two people have completely different moods. The innocence of the boy contrasts so well with the unspoken troubles of the man. Nice work!

Oh this I actually entered in the Smithsonian Portrait Comp. I will have to see if it gets in. Steve from Arcadia thought it might be too much portrait, which he does have trouble selling. I totally understand. I will find a place for it with time. Thanks so much for the comments. I am really glad you enjoy this one. Sure I will find a good place for it with time.
Well hope you enjoyed your pints with Simon. Great time was had and next time I will get Josh to come along.
Later,
Jason
